How to uninstall (remove) PC Purifier

What is PC Purifier?

PC Purifier is a badware and potentially unwanted program, that claims to improve your computer’s performance by optimizing your system and fixing registry issues. Nevertheless, it’s not true, probably there is nothing wrong with your computer, they are not going to help you, so don’t call and pay to these people. The only and one purpose of such applications is to earn easy money without doing any good to you. Completely opposite, PC Purifier will corrupt your computer’s work.

PC Purifier will set search engine and homepage of your web browser to their own. Moreover, this badware is tracking your personal data like IP address, browser activity history, searching results, passwords, logins and other information concerning your activity in web browser. This data could be shared with third-party companies and misused to generate revenue, it can also cause identity theft. Excessive advertising, regular redirects to potentially harmful domains, warnings/ads pop-ups – all these problems are caused by PC Purifier. Windows XP:

  1. Click Start.
  2. Control Panel.
  3. Then click Add or Remove Programs.
  4. Find PC Purifier.

  6. Find PC Purifier, select it and click Uninstall.

Windows 10:

  1. Click on the Start button (or press the Windows key) to open the Start menu, click on the Settings at the top.
  2. Click on App & features on the left menu.
  3. On the right side, locate PC Purifier and click it, then click on the Uninstall button.
  4. Click on Uninstall to confirm.

PC Purifier won’t uninstall

There are certain cases, when users cannot uninstall PC Purifier normally, using standard Windows features in Control Panel. When users click Uninstall button they see message: “You do not have sufficient access to uninstall PC Purifier. Please, contact your system administrator.” This happens because some process of PC Purifier prevent attempts to uninstall it. In order to uninstall it, use Safe Mode:

For Windows XP, Vista, 7

  1. Turn off your computer;
  2. Turn it on and immediately start typing F8 button;
  3. This will open Advanced Boot Options menu;
  4. Choose Safe Mode with arrow buttons;
  5. In Safe Mode go to Control Panel and Uninstall a program and remove “PC Purifier”.

For Windows 8/8.1 and 10

  1. Press the Win+R keys, type msconfig in box and press Enter;
  2. Switch to Boot tab, and click on Safe Boot check box;
  3. Choose the type of Safe Mode: Minimal or Network;
  4. Click OK and restart your PC;
  5. In Safe Mode go to Control Panel and Uninstall a program and remove “PC Purifier”.

Remove following registry entries:

Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
Value: PC Purifier
Data: “C:\Program Files\PC Purifier\PCPurifier.exe” /autostart=1

Then remove following files:


And following folders

C:\Program Files\PC Purifier
