What is Akamaihd.net?

If your default homepage/search engine has been suddenly changed to Akamaihd.net then you have browser hijacker installed. There are many variants of the threat such as searchinterneat-a.akamaihd.net, fbstatic-a.akamaihd.net, asrv-a.akamaihd.net, browserguard-a.akamaihd.net, default21076355-a.akamaihd.net, rvzr-a.akamaihd, and so on. However, despite the different names, all this is essentially the same. Usually, it appears on users’ Macbooks after users get redirected to rogue sites claiming that an Adobe Flash Player update needs to be installed, and end up installing it. Once it happens, your browser will be hijacked so that countless ads and redirects become an integral part of your browsing experience. The biggest danger is that you might end up on malware-laden websites by accidentally clicking on the ad link provided by the hijacker. Therefore, you’re advised to uninstall Akamaihd.net from your Mac device. You can complete the Akamaihd.net removal process by using Norton Antivirus automated removal tool or using our manual instruction.
