How to remove Any Search from Mac

Sharing is caring!

What is Any Search?

Any Search is a fake search engine oriented to Mac OS users that spreads with the help of bundling. This means that you may have picked up this malware while installing some freeware (Current Depot 1.0, MacKeeper, and so on). Once it enters the system, the PUP drops Search.anysearchmanager.com as a default search provider and a startup page of the infected browser. While the new one looks legit and barely differs from the popular search engines, you should know that its main goal is the promotion of affiliate products. This is why you will face irrelevant search results filled with bogus links, huge amount of pop-up ads as well as constant redirections to questionable domains like adult, casino, phishing, illegal software or even malware-laden websites. In addition, hijacker makes changes to the system configuration, installs additional software, creates new profiles to ensure it is not that easy to get rid of. You may follow this guide to uninstall browser hijacker and completely remove Any Search from your browsers.

How Any Search gets on your Mac?

Usually, Any Search appears on users’ Macbooks after users get redirected to rogue sites claiming that an Adobe Flash Player update needs to be installed, and end up installing it. As a result, several pieces of adware, malware and potentially unwanted software, including Document Converter, get installed on their Macs. Other ways for Any Search and other browser hijackers to end up on users’ machines are users installing free software and not opting out of extra programs that are also offered for installation, or users opening files downloaded from shady websites. If that had happened and Any Search took over your browser, you may follow our tutorial to remove Any Search from your Mac.
