What means Dear User Congratulations message?

“Dear User, Congratulations”, as well as “Amazon winner pop up” cyclically shows fake information when the user starts to open a new tab in Google Chrome and reports that “user wins iPhone” or other smartphones. Usually it redirect browsers to search-engine.today-rewards.stream. In reality, it is annoying virus, called SCAM, or telephone virus. It created for next purposes: to lock screen in browsers, by showing winning or alert messages and persuade user to call tech support for example, similar with “Dear User Congratulations” Windows trouble SCAM shows, that windows can’t work normally and the user should call to ‘tech support’ number. The main purpose of Scams is to force victims to call on fake software support, for solving fake PC, Mac or iPhone error or for taking a prize. Users don’t realize, that their device was hacked and try to call. Of course, all criminals instructions can include a purchase of useless tools or other money transactions. Our advice: don’t pay for anything! Be careful, Google never sends unsolicited email messages or make unsolicited phone calls to request personal or financial information or fix your computer. Step 1: Remove pop up from Mac

Pop up may not have app associated with it in Application. However, we recommend you to inspect the list of installed applications and remove unknown or suspicious ones.

Mac OSX:

  1. Check all apps on your device, find malware apps(their names ussually are simmilar with scam name)
  2. Open Finder
  3. In the Finder sidebar, click Applications
  4. If you see Uninstall pop up or pop up Uninstaller, double-click it and follow instructions
  5. Drag unwanted application from the Applications folder to the Trash (located on the right side of the Dock)

After that remove pop up from your browser.

iPhone/iPad iOS:

If you get a pop-up, close it. Don’t “like” it, and don’t open it, to prevent more malware infiltration into your phone. Certain third-party download sites might include programs that you don’t want with the software that you install.

  3. Tap cross in the upper-left corner of the app
  4. Tap Delete

Step 2: Remove pop up from browsers

Safari:

  1. Open Safari
  2. Click Safari menu.
  3. Choose Extensions.
  4. Find Pop up.
  5. Click Uninstall button to remove it.
