What is Rapport?

Rapport (or Trusteer Rapport) is a phony browser add-on that can cause a problem with users’ browsing experience. Though the app is available for download from web-browsers’ store, Rapport mostly spreads by means of “bundling”. Using that way, scammers can distribute malware secretly from users. Once inside, malware amends the browser’s settings to make users visit certain web sites as well as display pop-up advertisements. In addition to this, it’s able to track users’ behavior on the Web and misuse the collected information to display customized ads on webpages users visit or sell it to third parties. Keep in mind that such activities might also put your privacy at risk. You may follow this guide to get rid of browser hijacker and uninstall Rapport Pop Ups from web-browsers.

How Rapport gets on your Mac?

Usually, Rapport appears on users’ Macbooks after users get redirected to rogue sites claiming that an Adobe Flash Player update needs to be installed, and end up installing it. As a result, several pieces of adware, malware and potentially unwanted software, including Document Converter, get installed on their Macs. Other ways for Rapport and other browser hijackers to end up on users’ machines are users installing free software and not opting out of extra programs that are also offered for installation, or users opening files downloaded from shady websites. If that had happened and Rapport took over your browser, you may follow our tutorial to remove Rapport from your Mac.
