    • it is persistant. I even did a registry search and deleted every line that referred to “babylon” and still my maint program tries to apply a fix.

  1. My google chrome has nothing to click on the says customize. My internet explorer has a solid line through manage add-ons so I can’t . I did this once before and took my computer to the geek squad and that guy got rid of babylon with about 5 clicks and I didn’t see it again until I went to download a new version of aol and click on a crooked outfit to do it with and immediately I had it back. Now geek Squad says I have to buy a year’s service contract for 200.00 for them to look at my computer

  2. “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\AboutURLs” should be
    “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar”

  3. After following above instructions and it still persists, try the following:

Make sure you have another working browser. There are several that work great.
Uninstall Internet Explorer then delete all files that pertain to it.
Do a registry search and delete them. Also also a registry search for “Babylon” and “Search Results” (toolbar and search engine) and delete.
    Restart computer.
Use other browser to download and install a fresh copy of Internet Explorer (follow instructions).
This finally seems to have removed all traces of Babylon (confusion).
