What is iOS calendar virus?

Many iPhone owners periodically encounter the appearance of strange entries and events in the standard Calendar application. The problem may appear after visiting questionable sites or registering using the main mail. This problem has been bothering Apple gadget owners for years and even encourages some to abandon the standard calendar in favor of third-party applications.

Where does spam in the iPhone calendar come from?

One of the iOS features, which was originally intended for organizing the workflow and creating common events in the calendar, in the hands of spammers turned into an attack tool on Apple technology users. It is enough for attackers to find out the mail used for the user’s calendar entries and they can easily bombard the owner’s gadgets with messages about promotions, sales, winnings and lotteries. It is impossible to directly harm the gadget with an invitation via the calendar, but it is quite possible to force the victim to accidentally or intentionally click on the link in the invitation. Although the Apple itself limits the possible number of requests sent from one calendar account, no one prevents attackers from using multiple accounts and attacking from them in turn.

Cupertino is well aware of this problem, but they cannot yet come up with an effective way to protect against spam without disabling a convenient chip with general invitations. Instead, they offer to simply unsubscribe from fake or unnecessary calendar events. Unfortunately, it is ineffective to manually refuse incoming invitations. This will let the attackers know that the email address they are attacking is real. With a high probability, spam will become even more after that. Here are more effective and efficient ways to combat spam in the iPhone calendar:
