What is Safe Finder?

Safe Finder is a browser hijacker that comes without the user’s knowledge. Safe Finder is not a virus, but this program can deliver a lot of trouble, so this program is a Potentially Unwanted Program. When Safe Finder comes to the PC, it changes the homepage and search engine on search.safefinder.net. After that, all search results will be replaced and Safe Finder will begin displaying advertising content, such as banner ads, coupons, links to other sites and advertisements. Also, Safe Finder significantly reduces computer speed and load on the processor. Safe Finder collects your personal data such as passwords of credit cards, browsing history, and so on. All of this information may be disclosed to third parties. Safe Finder copies its files to the system folders to make removal difficult. If you found this infection on your PC, we recommend you to remove Safe Finder immediately.

  1. well that was a waste of time – I have this in firefox suddenly, but it is NOT under control panel and it’s not in firefox add-on, extensions, plug-ins, or anywhere

So how the hell do I remove it if I can’t find it where you say to look?

complete waste of a web page and time!!!

    • It means you have already removed it, or your antivirus program did it. What you have left? If you have search hijack – use free Avast Browser Cleanup utility to reset browsers settings.

  2. I think what Gaz is saying is “we get a prompt that tells us that the program can’t be found and therefore can’t be removed. Ta-DAh!” But there it is in the browser popping up adds and having a good ole time. I hesitate to go to the website and download the program so I can uninstall it…. ?????

  3. I removed Safefinder by using System Restore. I simply went back to a Restore point a few days before Safefinder appeared on my computer.

  4. Thanks a lot to the author of this page and video!! Malware like this is just so annoying. Eventually uninstall it successfully!! It’s so helpful!!!

  5. I have it on my MacBook but I can’t find the app in the application section and I don’t know how to restore my stuff before I had this. Can someone help me please
