What is SpeedChecker

SpeedChecker – is a typical browser extension, which is classified as PUP (Potentially Unwanted Program). It can be integrated in browsers like Google Chrome, Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox. Authors of this adware say, that SpeedChecker shows user his internet parameters, for example download/upload speed, NET Status, ping to different servers. But SpeedChecker generates and displays many advertisements, like banners, pop-ups, in-text links, coupons and targeted videos. Clicking on those advertisements redirects user to malicious websites. We don’t recommend you to hold this application on your computer.

How is SpeedChecker installed on my PC?

As many malware, SpeedChecker can be installed on users PC, using “bundling” method. Malicious programs bind to free software, and get installed with this freeware. To prevent this, first of all don’t download unknown software from “freedownload” type websites. It is recommended to download license software from official websites. Secondly, inspect every step of installation, so you may find installation point of unwanted program. SpeedChecker also may be downloaded from different sources with media or document files.

    Click Programs and Features (if computer’s settings Viewed By: Icons);
  4. Find programs possibly related to SpeedChecker;
  5. Click Uninstall;
  6. Follow the instructions on the screen or just wait.

Note: If you can’t find required program, sort programs by date in Control panel and search for last installed programs.
