How to remove ClassicPreferences PUP from Mac

Sharing is caring!

What is ClassicPreferences?

ClassicPreferences is a potentially unwanted program that comes in form of browser extension. This PUP is usually installed without users’ notice and hijacks browsers such as Google Chrome, Safari, or Mozilla Firefox. As a result, users will see a fake search engine (SafeFinder, Searchwebmesh, etc.) each time they decide to look for something online. These results will not be organic as it’s designed to promote sponsored content. Therefore, do not be surprised if you find yourself on various ad sites after clicking on results displayed by this hijacker. Due to this reason, you are advised to remove ClassicPreferences from your browser. You can follow the manual removal guide presented below or use Combo Cleaner to eliminate this threat automatically.
